Natural Beauty Tips

I'm just wondering if you ever had that feeling of being exhausted walking around the mall scouting for some beauty and skin care products that would promise great results.  I do!  Going around the beauty section had been driving me nuts as I can't decide which one I'm going to choose as there are plenty of products to choose from.  Sometimes, the price helps us choose the products that we're going to buy as we would normally go for the affordable ones.  As for me, from among the beauty and skin care products that I've tried, I was just satisfied using Oil of Olay and Loreal anti aging and revitalizing cream.  I just normally switch between the two although I used Oil of Olay more often as this is the brand that my husband brings home every time he comes back for a vacation.

Whenever I shop and happens to pass by the department store's beauty section, I just shop for the basic skin care products like Lotion.  I'd been long using Citra Body Lotion which is a product of Thailand and so far, I'm getting good results. :) I don't normally buy beauty tools and accessories like blowers, hair curlers, shears for hair, curl lash, eye brow trimmer, etc.  The reason? I'm scared that I don't have time to use these stuff as I'm always busy and rushing to work everyday.  I don't want to end up wasting my money on things that I won't be using anyway.

Anyway, if you want to try using affordable means of maintaining a smooth and clear skin, I just want to share a few from my collection which I got from my readings:

  • Take 3 table spoons of tomato juice (extracted from fresh tomatoes) mixed with one teaspoon of lemon juice.  Apply this mixture to the face and it will help to make your kin soft and glowing.
  • Take two tablespoons of cabbage juice mixed with one teaspoon of honey and apply to your face regularly to keep wrinkles away.
  • An ice cube can be rubbed on the face gently as it is a good massaging tool. It will refresh you.
  • Instead of using a commercial facial cleanser, why don't you try using cucumber juice mixed with milk?
  • To add extra shine and glow to your hair, add 2 tablespoons of malt vinegar.  use it as last rinse and towel dry your hair.
  • To loosen and cleanse blackheads, make a paste of oatmeal, honey and an egg white.  Apply ti the skin, massage for 10 mins then rinse with lukewarm water.
That's all for now, I hope you can pick up a tip or two that you can do at home.  Being beautiful need not be expensive.  Sometimes all what we need to do is just to have a little knowledge and use our readily available resources at home.  We just have to read a lot and explore, and of course, apply what we've learned and who knows, you might be able to pick a beauty regimen that suits you.

Foods And Fun!

We happened to eat at one restaurant opposite MBK mall in Bangkok and I'm a bit pleased that I was able to find a restaurant that could cater to the food preference of my two kids.  My daughter is very choosy with foods and even before we went for our Bangkok tour, I'm a bit worried that Thai foods will not be much to her liking.  For one, she doesn't like spicy foods and most of the Thai dishes are spicy.  Second, she is much into meats especially beef and she doesn't welcome the idea of trying new Asian dishes unlike her brother who is willing to try everything.

We got into this restaurant (sorry, I forgot the name) on our first day and because we liked the place and the food they served, we went back there to dine on our second day, as well.  We were attracted by the colorful interiors of the restaurant.  It's simple but clean and accessible as it is located just opposite the mall.

After trying their stir fried chicken with cashew nuts and dried chili on our first day which we liked very much, this time we decided to try their version of sweet and sour pork as it really looks appealing from the photo presented to us in the menu.

We are not sure of the size of the serving so to be safe, we just order an extra plate of rice with a side dish which to our surprised is very small and may not even satisfy one hungry tummy. (lol)

But our disappointment immediately vanished as we got our order of roasted chicken.  Oh my! The medium sized plate appeared to be a large size order.  It cannot be seen well on the photo but it's really a huge order.

The foods were really nice though, and we were able to satisfy ourselves with the scrumptious dinner.  After that, we've decided to go back to the hotel and have a dip on the hotel's swimming pool.

Really a nice day!

Gift Of Good Health

Few more weeks and it's going to be Christmas! As early as September, most of us have probably gone through a lot of shopping and gift buying.  Well, Christmas is about giving and this has been the tradition for many years.  Since, I wouldn't be home for Christmas, I wouldn't be having any special celebration.  Things only get special when I spent it with the family, especially with my kids.  In fact, I would be working both on Christmas eve and Christmas Day!  I have checked on my work schedule and I would be on afternoon shift on both days.  I do not plan for anything except that I would probably be calling them on that day or perhaps, if we could see each other through webcam via skype, that would be a lot better.  Anyway, I promised them that I will surely be home next Christmas.

This year, apart from having my family intact, leading a happy and comfortable life, one best wish that I have for myself and my family is a gift of good health!  As they say, "Health is wealth".  You are truly rich if you are healthy!  This is indeed very true.  To be able to attend to your work everyday and not getting sick is truly a blessing!  I'm happy to say that I never get seriously sick during my 5 years of working abroad.  Except from minor head aches and slight fevers, I'm perfectly okay.  This indeed makes me very happy and thankful.  Imagine having a normal physique without having to walk around with the aid of knee scooters at rentakneewalker.com?  This is really something to be happy about.

I'm very grateful for the gift of good health.  Because of having a good health, I'm able to deliver the needs of my family.  I'm able to attend to my responsibilities both at home and at work.  More importantly, I feel comfortable about myself and this could lead to a happy disposition in life.

God is good! He really is!  I can't be thankful enough.

How about you? What would you consider your best gift?

Welcoming Monday!

It's been six days since my last post in this blog.  I was very busy with all my personal stuff that I forgot to update my posts here.  I'm just done with the final touch ups on my newest blog which is a travel blog.  I just thought of compiling all the chronicles of my travels within and outside the country in just one blog.  I really love to visit places and my family could attest to that.  I made a promise to myself that I'm going to organize trips each year for myself and my family.  Since we've visited a number of wonderful and exciting places, I don't wish to put all memories into trash so having a travel blog would somehow reminds me of all the beautiful things that I've seen and witnessed on my every trip.

I hope that you will support my new blog as much as you have supported my other blogs especially my home blog which is earning quite a decent traffic.  With just two years in blogging, I think that's considered a simple achievement for all my hard work in maintaining my blogs.

Now it's another brand new week and I have high hopes that just like the past weeks, I can accomplish more this time and would be able to get all things done as scheduled.  I have to write few more pending tasks and attend to some other personal stuff.  Busy mode! :)

Have a great week ahead!

Random Thoughts...

We are now approaching the last week of November and before we knew it, it's going to be December.  Sometimes, I hardly notice the passing of each day.  This has been my life here in Cambodia.  As what I have said before, I only keep track of the date not the days.  In life, there's so many choices that we have to make and in every decision we make, we have to give ample time and planning in order to succeed.  To be honest, sometimes I do feel that I might not have enough time to do all the things that I want and to fulfill all the things that I plan. Sometimes, I'm thinking if I'm kind of late in achieving all my goals or if I'm just on the right track.

Just like today, I'm in the midst of my deep thoughts,  I suddenly miss my life in the Philippines wherein I am surrounded with lots of friends and my family of course.  At least, I have some people to share my thoughts with and discuss my plans, and on the process, I could get some insights and advices from them. I think I'm missing my old friends.  I hardly had contact with them for he last five years and I'm missing their company.

Things had totally changed now and whether it's for the better or for worse,  I am not yet in the position to conclude.  I know that everything happens for a reason.

Let me just share with you this message that I've got :

"When we pray, God hears more than we say.  He answers more than we ask.  He gives more than we imagine, but in HIS own TIME and HIS own WAY."

Enjoy the rest of the week everyone!

Online Shopping

With the emergence of online stores, shopping has now become a rewarding experience.  You have lots of options for products and most of these come with a lower price tag.  Apart from for women’s apparel, you could also find cute dresses for your little darlings, toys, shoes, bags and ladies accessories.  Now, it’s been a lot easier as you could also shop for some discount uniforms online.  Price is much cheaper compared to buying it on a local shop.  Constant visit to your favorite online shops would also give you an opportunity for great discounts which could mean a lot of savings.  I’m really amazed at how technology has made it possible for some businesses to reach their target market in a click of a mouse.  I believe it’s a “win - win situation” for both business owners and consumers.

For me, what I love most about online shopping is the convenience of choosing the things you want to buy without leaving the comfort of your own homes.  So, if you’re a busy Mom and is tied up with lots of things to do, then online shopping would be the best choice.

It’s Christmas!

So, it's Christmas time, and I’m getting excited with less than two months to go! If you are a pet owner, like me, this can be a very exciting excuse to spoil your dog rotten! I love my dog and he seems to love Christmas, too – the look of anticipation on his little face when we wake up in the morning and present him with his little sack of gifts from Santa Paws. The excitement builds further as he comes flying down the stairs to see more wrapping paper to chew up under the tree, only to find that inside that wrapping paper are even more toys and treats!

However, if you are as crazy as me about buying presents for your little munchkin, you may also find that your high street just lacks in appealing gift ideas that you haven’t already given them the previous year. That’s where VioVet comes in! If it’s Christmas gifts for your pet that you’re looking for, you need not look any further.

My favourite product are the Hug Tugz Merry Dude tug toys, I absolutely love these. They are so cute and they come in three different styles – a reindeer, snowman, or Father Christmas himself. The main body of the product is made of soft cuddly material, whilst the rope limbs are perfect for rough play – which I’m sure your dog will love, I know mine does!

And if you decide you would rather buy toys that aren’t occasion specific, you could always chose from the regular range of dog toys.

And don’t forget, at this time of year, you want your dog to be with you to share in the fun, and this may mean letting them enter areas of the house that they are usually not allowed in to. If this is the case, make sure that you stock up on pet hair removers – the quicker you clean the surface your dog has made fluffy, the less chance there is of it becoming ground into the fabrics, so you can still have a lovely, clean home!

Good Bye Pinas!

October 28 marks the last day of my vacation in the Philippines but it also signifies the beginning of my one week vacation at Bangkok with my kids.  It’s so sad to leave home once again.  I’ll be terribly missing a lot of things.  Nothing can beat the true comfort and relaxation brought about by your own home.  The feeling is really different.

Anyway, life has to move on.  I have to go back to my commitments at work.  Before doing so, I have to fulfill my promise to my kids that I will treat them for a week  long vacation at Bangkok.  I wouldn’t be home for Christmas so this would be my Christmas treat and gift to them.  At least, I could spend time with them for their Christmas shopping.

Both my son and daughter were really excited for the trip.  It’s going to be their first time in Bangkok and they’ve heard a lot about the place which made them really look forward for the trip.  Exactly after lunch last Oct 28, their things were all ready.

Lucio was excited for our trip but he felt sad too as he will be left at home (lol)

It was our first time to take a flight from Clark Airport as we used to take a flight from Manila.  It’s also my first time to try Tiger Airways.  I used to take Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines.  Wow, everything is first.  You could just imagine how much excitement do we have.  As a matter of fact, I felt more excited in our trip to Bangkok that when we had our trip to Hoh Chi Min City Vietnam.  Our flight was delayed for about an hour but finally, we were able to take the flight.

We arrived at Bangkok  past 9 PM.  Kids were truly amazed at Bangkok’s Subharnavumi Airport.  It’s very huge, nice and well organized.  Well, far better than our airport in Manila and the ones that I’ve tried at Vietnam and even at Siem Riep in Cambodia.

We’ve decided to take a quick dinner at the airport before we’ve finally decided to proceed to the hotel were we had our booking for our one week stay.  There are lots of restaurants in the airport but as expected, the price is a little bit higher than the normal.  I paid almost THB500 (around $17) for 3 orders of very basic meal.

The trip was a bit tiring but our excitement didn't allow us to feel that way.  After that quick dinner, we immediately find our way out from the airport.  We took the Airport Link to Phaya Thai Station.  This station is very close to our hotel.

We ended up reaching our hotel at around 10PM.  It was a long day but we are full of enthusiasm in welcoming our second day to Bangkok the following day.

Hope you can get back to know more about Bangkok and our adventures.
