Ice Cream Please

Today, I had the chance to treat myself for an ice cream.  Since I came back to Cambodia after my 2 weeks long vacation in the Philippines last March, I barely had the chance to treat myself for one.  After my “Thai Massage”, I decided to get some ice cream.  I would admit that ice cream here is not as good as what we have in the Philippines.  But since I don’t have a choice, I would rather have one than none (lol).  Anyway, this 3 scoop combination costs me THB40K or maybe around Php50.

As I was eating my ice cream, I remembered my two kids who used to share ice cream with me every time  I’m home.  They love to eat ice cream, too especially my daughter.

Time flies so fast! Summer vacation was over.  It’s going to be June once again and they have to get back to school.  I’m a bit sad that I can’t join them to buy their things for school.  But that’s how it is.  Anyway, I’m looking forward for my next vacation.  It’s not that soon but it will definitely come.

Oh well, having this ice cream is just a part of the things that I did today for my day off.  I’ll be back to work tomorrow and I hope that I will have another peaceful week that’s stress free.

Almighty God, We bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you.

Catering Services At It's Best!

For the past years, catering business has grown to a full swing.  As most people gets busy with their respective jobs, they have lesser time for domestic tasks.  People now tend to worry less holding big events in their homes or offices.  This is so because catering companies can be found anywhere.  For this reason, people tend to be cautious when choosing the right catering services for their specific needs.   Being able to throw a well organized event with foods that's easy on the palate could make your event a successful one.  I have attended big events in the past and I always take time to observe how well foods are presented and how the entire event is organized.  It is extremely important not to bore your visitors and/or clients not only with the kind of foods that you served  but with the event program itself.

Well, I have seen this website online, it's a Mexican restaurant called Mattitos.  Mattitos has several locations in Dallas and all locations are offering catering services.

What's good in this restaurant is that they are offering a wide range of catering packages that suits your style and budget.   Options for beverages and desserts for a minimal cost per head is being offered, too.  You could also choose to add a bar service package for two hours or three hours.  It's your pick!

Those who have special preferences with the food selection has nothing to worry. Mattitos can custom tailor a menu for your specific needs.  No wonder that when it comes to party caterer Dallas, Mattitos  has always been a favorite choice.  Catering services includes full use of china wares, flatwares, buffet tables and even all the decorations which will truly make your event stand out. There's no limitations as to the number of guests to be served.  They can tailor made a party for as small as 10 to over 1,000 guests and they cater to all types of events.

With lots of options available, award winning Mexican foods and great service to offer, there's no doubt that Mattitos has always been a top choice for party caterer Dallas.

Would you ever seek for a catering service on your next event?  Then, you should go for one that has no limitations when it comes to the size of guests, food preferences, decorations and event organization.  After all, we all wanted to have a great party and there's no way to have it than going for one that has a lot to offer.

Another Week Of Life's Challenges....

If there's one thing that I'm terribly missing, it is my constant inter action with my blogging friends.  We used to comment on each other's  post and visit each other's blogs and get new updates from each other's lives.  Sounds cool, huh?  Recently, our lives turned 360 degrees.  All of us suddenly gets busy with our own personal lives offline. We seldom get in touch but we do manage to say hi's and hellos through facebook.

As for me, I get terribly busy since I've joined a new company and gets a new job.  The demands on the job is quite high and I am having difficulty catching up with my Boss requirements sometimes.  I would admit, I've been in the business for quite sometime and I'm quite familiar with the ins and outs of the job but mind you, this is my first time to be working under a difficult Boss.  It's quite tough and it's driving me nuts.

The question is...I am still able to take the challenge?

Today is Monday and I am again facing a new week full of challenges.  I don't want to sound pessimistic but sometimes, I can't help but worry.  In my life now, everyday is a challenge.  Every brand new day is a day full of surprises.  It's very far to how it used to be in my past work.  Sometimes, I feel like giving up.  Well...everything in my current place is acceptable except for the pressures that I'm getting from my Boss.  He got a skill of converting a garden into a wilderness in an instant and a talent of converting a very simple thing into an extremely difficult situation.  How is that for an example? (lol)

Well...whatever it would be in the near future, I just hope that everything will come into proper timing.  As I said, I want to deal with things one step at a time.  Now, I'm on my way to solve problems at home.  It's getting to where it should be and I'm confident that in a couple of weeks, everything will get back into shape.  I have decided to fully renovate my "for rent house".  Even if it translates to huge expenses, I have to do it to bring it back to it's good shape and be in demand for tenants.  After this, I have to move on the next one.  Once I've settled, then I have to make a decision.

Sometimes, it's extremely difficult to be on top.  But looking at the bight side of things, I'm beginning to appreciate the fruits of my labor on a different perspective.  I just keep in my mind that "hard work" pays off.

In every challenge that I've faced, I always keep in mind that God is there to guide me.  Whenever I think of that, I begin to look at things on a different perspective.  I know that God won't gave me things that I cannot handle and as early as now, I'm trying to find His message in all the things that I'm going through now.

The week ahead might be full of challenges and I have to get ready to face those......

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Over the past week, I was not feeling okay.  I am into a deep emotional turmoil.  I am mentally disturbed. Stress here and there thinking of my never ending problems.  Sometimes, it's just hard to work things out especially when you are not physically present to assess the situation.  Moreover, I was also having work related problems that's killing my will power to move on.  I would admit that I'm almost giving up and thinking that probably, it would be better for me to rest and escape from all these pressures and stress.  I am having problems with my tenant.  While the house she is renting out was undergoing minor renovations,  my problems started to pile up.  The contractor working on my house failed to follow all our agreements and the people he hired to do the repair works had  caused me more problems.   My tenant left the house with more than 2 months rental payments unsettled and utility bills unpaid for the past 6 months.  She left without any words and simply disappeared after discreetly taking out all her things from the house.  She is currently avoiding all our calls and emails.  To say the least, she evaded her responsibilities.

Who would not feel disgusted?

Just the other day, I was looking outside from the window of my bedroom which is situated on the third floor of the apartment that's why I could very well see the view at the back of the housing unit. I took a snap shot of what I saw.  It was the above photo.  What is in this photo that interests me? Well...I saw these houses made of some scrap materials which can resemble those squatter areas in the Philippines.  As I look at those houses, I begin to feel shy about myself.  Here I am, complaining about things.  I'm, complaining about my tenant who evaded from the rental fees.  But what does this denotes?  That means I have more than one house, and these people down there in that squatters area didn't even have a decent one.  I could see how they live one day at a time, what is their way of life and how do they try to survive in the midst of a heavy downpour with that small house trying to squeeze themselves just to protect their bodies from cold.

As I see this thing, I've whispered a prayer.....I asked God for forgiveness for being so mindful of small things and not being thankful enough of the great things which I am enjoying through God's grace.

This photo will always remind me to see things beyond what my naked eye could see.

Playing Online Games

Over the past few years, I've seen a number of  websites offering online games and I would say that it's one of the "in" things now.  For some people, they find it more relaxing to play games online within the confines of their own homes or offices.  For those who are playing real games, playing online gives them a secured feeling of collecting and paying their credits online contrary to bringing cash and put their self at risk.  There are various kinds of games that we can play online and the most popular ones are the electronic gaming machines or more popularly known as slot machines.  Getting hooked on this may not be a worthwhile experience as you can shed out a lot of money from your pocket especially if you are not familiar with what you are going through.  There are some sites offering free slot machines where you can get yourself familiarized on how it is being played.  There you can choose to play any machine of your choice and feel the thrills of playing online.  Some people practice slot machines through these sites and are able to gain a real playing experience.

I think it would be nice to try the free slot machines just for the experience.  Most of the countries in Asia are operating casinos and surprisingly, these become one of the tourist attractions for those who are real life gamblers.  Some well to do families are even incorporating a side trip to a casino whenever they visit those countries like Macau, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos and the Philippines.  Playing this is very simple for those who are really familiar with the game but it wont hurt to practice if you want to get your "real luck".  Practicing online can make the most of your experience and there will be no risk of losing money.  I myself do whenever I'm free, but I just do it for fun and just for the learning experience.  I guess, I'm not born a gambler but playing free slots online is a good stress reliever at times.

Enjoying Her Pet

Mika Ella with her pet Lucio (our little bunch of joy!)

Mika's kuya enjoying the company of Lucio, as well.

My unica hija Mika sent me these photos with her pet shih tzu, "Lucio".  She had acquired Lucio more than 2 months ago when I was on vacation in the Philippines.  She has been dying to own a shi tzu pup and  keeps on urging me to get one for her.  I finally gave in to her request and gifted her with a shi tzu pup last February 26 whom we named Lucio.  Lucio is now getting bigger and as he gets older, he becomes sweeter and more playful.  No doubt that my daughter has been enjoying her summer break with Lucio.  Too bad that I can't join them this summer for some summer escapades, since I just moved on to a new company. Luckily that I got Lucio for her as she had the chance to enjoy her summer vacation despite my absence.  I thank Lucio for that! But looks like her kuya is enjoying as much.  I've heard from Mikz that Lucio even preferred to be with her kuya most of the times as Lucio keeps on following him wherever he goes inside the house. Oh well, Mikz was very good in creating the above photos.  The first time I saw the pics, I wonder where they get those pups.   Until I realized, "Oh it was Lucio!" and Mikz just tried her hands in photo editing (lol).  It's nice, isn't it?

Good job Mikz! :)
