I am Thankful!

Was reading my emails at yahoo when suddenly I came across of this and I just want to share it with you.....It's beautiful!  Somehow, I felt relieved after being reminded to be thankful despite the difficult times in my life.

For the wife who says it's hotdogs tonight, because she is home with me, and not out with someone else.

For the husband who is on the sofa being couch potato, because he is home with me and not out at the bars.

For the teenager who is complaining about doing dishes, because that means she is t home and not on the streets.

For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.

For the mess to clean after the party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a little to snug because it means I have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with a transportation.

For my huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

For the lady behind me in the church that sings off key because it means that I can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I am capable of working hard.

For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am alive.

And finally for those who read this post because it means I have visitors here in this blog.  :)

Isn't this enough reason to be happy?

And because I am happy, I am linking this to .......

Night Out At KTV!

Last Saturday, we had a chance to go out and spend few hours of fun and entertainment at a KTV bar nearest to our staff housing unit. This is just few blocks away from our place and located inside a hotel on the main road going to the boarder of Thailand. This was the idea of our Boss to celebrate our last training day as we are about to work on shifts this coming week as we are already near to our opening date. He gave me a phone call and asked me to check with the staff if they wanted to have a simple celebration and everybody agreed. We have decided that instead of a small party having "pot luck" same like what we have done last time, we will just book a VIP room in the hotel's KTV. So after we checked out from our training at 5PM, we had some rest and we assembled at 7:30 PM so we could all go at the same time to the venue of our "small gathering". It's quite pleasing to know that the venue for the said party was indeed a good choice. The place is nice and presentable, clean and cozy. When we get inside the hotel, the first thing that we did is to have some pictures taken. Maybe because we felt attracted with the nice interiors of the hotel.
I was mesmerized with the wonderful wooden sculptures on display at the hotel lobby. Everything is nice. It was my first time to see this place and I am glad that I was not disappointed. The VIP room of the KTV looks nice and is quite big, well big enough to accommodate all of us. It has a huge screen, bigger compared to those that I've seen before from other KTV bars.
Overall, our simple gathering turned out to be a nice one. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed the whole night of singing coupled with fun and laughter. It's nice to unwind sometimes to have time to relax and get away from pressures from work and family.

Lucio Is Now On Training

Our dear Lucio is now on training. He's 2 months old now and I just told my daughter Mikz that its about time to train him a bit. We wanted him to learn to pee and poo at the right place and so Mikz had done some research on how can she train Lucio on this. Today, I just had a chat with my daughter and she told me that she started training Lucio already and she told me to give our Lucio enough time to get used to what is being taught to him. I've seen Lucio on webcam and he's getting cuter as he gets bigger. His hair is getting longer and thicker. Maybe a month more to go and Mikz can already tie his hair with some cute ribbons. I am also excited to see him wearing a cute shirt and ribbon. Just by his looks now, we already find him so adorable, how much more in the coming month? :)

No doubt that Lucio keeps everyone in the house entertained and I'm glad that both my son and daughter takes turn in bathing and feeding him. He is still into milk and dog food. Sometimes, Mikz lets him try to take some breads and soup. This cute little puppy is really our darling. My daughter is enjoying every single day of her summer vacation because Lucio is giving her company and I feel so happy about it. I could see from both my son and daughter how they love and adore Lucio. I guess, even me. I always request them to bring Lucio in front of the webcam as i really wanted to have a glimpse of him. I really missed him a lot, too.

I just hope that he will learn to do his business outside the house soon. Well, I'm quite optimistic about that.

Long way to go Lucio!

I'm Busy But I'm Happy!

Oh my! I haven't updated my blogs lately. It's so unusual for me not to update my blogs. My blogger friends can attest to that. Perhaps, I'm one of the most visible bloggers before. In fact, I used to write a post for my main blog, Life's Tips And Tricks daily. Oh well..that was before. I also blog walk a lot in the past. But sad to say, I have to get away from blogging a bit because of my busy schedule at work. We're on the process of setting up now and as expected, we have tons of jobs to do. Aside from that, I was doing the training for more than a week. I have to prepare my modules and materials for the training and this had taken much of my time last month. Now, that I'm done with the training, I have to devote some time on paper works. I only have Sunday for my day off and this is the day that I devote for chatting with the kids on top of doing my laundry and going to the market to buy my stock for the week. I also cook my own foods, iron my clothes and clean my room. I only have a free time after 7PM daily after I'm done cooking and eating my dinner and also fixing my room. I normally start to be in front of my laptop at around 8PM checking and answering my emails, do a little of blog walking and writing a post if I can. Sometimes, I even fall asleep with my laptop still ON.

Now friends, please don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining! In a way, I prefer my life now than before when I was still at my old place and company. I am busy but I am happy! Why is that so? Maybe because, I have a fast paced life now which does not give me the luxury of time to think and get sad. Hmmm...I don't have much time to emote and think about the past which I normally do when I was still with my previous company, being so free. Although my blogging activities were affected, I guess I don't have much choice. Maybe you really can't be good at two things at the same time. But blogging has been my passion which I couldn't set aside no matter how busy I am. I can't afford to lose the fun and action in the blogosphere. Of course, I couldn't afford not to interact with my online friends whom I've been missing a lot. But I will do my best to keep in touch every time I get online. That's a promise!

So much for this friends, I have to pause for now and attend to some other things.

Of course, how can I forget to link this post to my online buddy's meme...

Vietnamese Dishes

Hi everyone! We had an acquaintance party last April 07 and since we are a department with a mixture of different nationalities, we had decided that each group would bring some dishes which. For this post, I would be featuring first the Vietnamese dishes prepared and cooked by our Vietnamese staff.

Vietnam Fried Spring Rolls

Believe me, this is so yummy and it comes with a special sauce. In fact, I ate a lot of these.

Our Vietnamese staff says, the spring rolls should be eaten together with these green veggies. I tell you, in Cambodia and Vietnam, green veggies are very well loved. In a way, it's good because I was influenced by them. Now, I eat a lot of veggies more than I did when I was in the Philippines.

This is another kind of Vietnam spring rolls but it's not fried same like the other one. The counterpart of this in the Philippines is our "lumpiang sariwa" but it comes with a different dip.

This is again, one of my favorites! Shells that is sauteed with tamarind sauce and a lots of chili. They usually mix some herbs but I forgot the name (lol). I always order this dish every time I eat in Cambodian and Vietnamese restaurants.

So these are only few of the dishes that were served that night. Everything was good and we were able to have a taste of different dishes. It was a wonderful night. Everybody had fun including our Boss and some visitors.

So to our Vietnamese friends, thank you for allowing us to have a taste of your specialty, we truly loved it!

Looking Back.....

Oh's been 18 days since I've joined my new company. There are lots of changes and adjustments but there are also so many good things to be happy about. Aside from the fact that this place is more rewarding professionally and financially, I was also able to gain many new friends. I feel blessed that God gave me my wish and that is to be able to find a place where I can work and feel happy at the same time. For me, having a good relationship with my staff and colleagues really matters. Sometimes, I am thinking, what is the use of working and earning if you don't have any peace of mind and you are not happy with what you are doing. Well, in this place I have it all. I know it's still too early to tell, things may change later but the fact that I have a good start is already a good sign. I have thought of writing this post coz it's a Sunday and I wanted to share the power of prayers.

Prior to getting this job, I have prayed sincerely to God. I asked him to decide for me and lead my way. I've been praying to be in a place that I would be happy and at the same time will give me a sense of fulfillment career wise. Needless to say, I was having a lot of qualms in my previous job. It' just that I was a bit comfortable with the place and there's not much pressures that's why I was able to stand working there for few years. But everything is not in order and there's not much opportunities for growth. The business is also sinking and there is a problem on stability. There were times that I'm upset as I had this feeling that I'm just wasting my time staying in that place. I prayed to God and asked him to give me a better opportunity. I would say that I have "answered prayers". God gave it to me and even gave me more than what I have asked for. I am very thankful for all the good things that's coming my way and I can't thank God enough.

God is so good. Sometimes, some of your prayers were left unanswered and it is because God has better plans for you and it will come on the right time.

Have a blessed Sunday to all.
