Believe In Yourself!

If you frequent my blog, then probably you already know that I love to share stories on some of my posts. Probably because, stories motivate, inspire me and keeps me going. It is also my objective to inspire others by sharing the stories here. I got this story below from my sister through email and I find it so nice that I can't help but to share it here. It's all about believing in yourself, being positive and never being discouraged by criticisms. The power of words is very important and it lies to us whether we want to be be affected by others.

Here it goes....

Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs.... who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....

The race began....

Honestly, no one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!" "They will NEVER make it to the top." "Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!" The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher.... The crowd continued to yell, "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!" More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....This one wouldn't give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!

Then all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?

It turned out that the winner was DEAF!!!!

The wisdom of this story is:

Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart! Always think of the power words have.

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore: ALWAYS BE POSITIVE!

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dream!

There are times when we encounter people who would put us down. This is what they say as "crab mentality" which is especially true if you are in a corporate world. People will step on you when they see that you are moving up. Some people cannot be simply happy for the success of other people and even this is very hard to bear, we are living in a world that's full of trickery and competition is very stiff, a thing which we have to accept and face. So, we have to be tough at all times. While getting positive criticisms helps us to improve our weaknesses, we should also learn to filter those which are constructive and those which are destructive.

I hope that you enjoyed this story. I did!

Super True and I can super relate... Kaya nga until now I have a pending case against my former employer...

Hehehe... In whatever, be positive and always be thankful for every situation gusto man natin o hindi...Be careful in trusting other people kasi akala mo kaibigan pero yun pala ang sisira din sa iyo...

Ah ganun ba? Nagka problem ka pala before with your employer... anyway...past is past! Happy ka naman ngayon Sis!

Thanks for being the first commenter here Sis! :)

thanks for this good read, krizza. so true, sometimes you just have to put a deaf ear to people who makes putting others down their business. so sad that Pinoys are well known for crab mentality, not just in the corporate ladder, but even within families, friends, school, etc.

You said it right KM! Kahit saan may ganito eh...
Tsskkk...

Thanks for being here again, as always. *winks*

I love inspiring stories like this, Krizza. Keep them coming :-)

Kahit saan, merong mga tao na walang magawa sa buhay kundi ang manira ng kapwa at hilahin eto pababa. These people are full of insecurities in life and they can never be happy with other people's happiness that's why they'd try every means to pull them down.

With all due respect to my countrymen, masasabi ko na common trait na sa atin ang crab mentality. And how we love to gossip! LOL! Pero maalala ko, one time, my Malaysian blog co-author, Windy, wrote that Filipino Crab Mentality is a Fallacy. He quipped that it's a universal trait of mankind.

Well, ang importante, we work at our goals the honest way at kung may kokontra man sa tagumpay natin, mamatay sila sa inggit! Hahaha!

I came back coz just saw ur comment at dfoolonthehill.com, Krizza, hehe.

Windy is a brilliant blogpal of mine who once co-authored Lainy's Musings when I was too busy with the preparations for 2010 Automated Elections. There were actually 2 co-authors who helped me out in maintaining the blog. The other one was Uncle Che, my African friend. That's only for Lainy's Musings. For my other blogs, it was my cousin Ally of allena83.com who took over.

You can read more about Windy here:

See yah! :-)

Sobrang happy talaga sis... Blessing in disguise ika nga... At saka i'm not bitter or something for I know God has bigger and better plans for me and my family...

Siguro kung nasa work pa ako na iyon hindi ako blogger ngayon and I wouldn't have the chance to meet beautiful people like you, KM and the rest of our virtual friends...

I'm always looking into the positive side of every situation kahit pa anong negative ang sabihin ng iba...

@ Lainy, Wow... you said it right! Actually I feel the same way. Working in the corporate world for years made me experienced some "ups" and "downs" and I really able to prove that this crab mentality is very evident among the Filipinos! Tsskkk.....sad to say, but it's true!

Thanks for being here and throwing those lovely comments. I appreciate it so much.

*hugs for u too* :)

Aw! Grabeh Krizza! Di mo lang ako ginulat sa comment mo. You had me in tears too apart from making my heart melt. Thanks so much for the kind words and the heartwarming compliments. What more can I say? My heart swelled triple times just by reading your comment.

As a newbie, you are doing wonderfully. Being here for a couple of years does not make me an expert because everyday, there's always new things to learn. I never look on the "status" of a blogger nor I stereotype them for being a newbie or an expert. I would always try to reach out and if it's reciprocated, that's simply gratifying. Ang saya-saya yon!

You're right. You may encounter a lot of snobbish bloggers but don't let them break your blogging spirit. The PR's, the traffic and the like are just figures. It doesn't make one "GOD" at the blogs.

There was a time when lainyonline.com was at its peak. It had a PR of 3 and a traffic of 38, 000, not to mention the popularity at Entrecard. I have enjoyed the stardom, LOL! But it's just it. When you lost it all, not too many would stay. A few friends will stick by you and that's when you'll know who your true friends are.

Please don't try to put me on a pedestal, hahaha! But thanks all the same for the praises and accolades. Coming from you, that means a whole lot to me. What you encountered for having been treated like you don't exist at all is minor. I've been to so many emotional let downs at the blogs. Some would try to pull you down and the worse was when they attack my person. That was something that any of us would not want to go through. But despite it all, I am still here because I don't blog for my audience. I blog to express and not to impress.

I am grateful that our paths had crossed. Not too many bloggers nowadays have that rapport and camaraderie that we've had, even if it's still very new.

I look forward for the title you're going to make for me, hahaha! Ano kaya yon? I can't wait, LOL!

So much for my litany.

All the Best,
LAINY
