Healthy Meal!
I don't know what inspired me to cook but today, I suddenly thought of preparing a healthy meal for myself (lol). Oh...I guess it's because I'm sick and tired of the foods being served to me in the office since it consists mostly of meat. It's either fried pork, fried chicken, or a combination of both sauteed or cooked with a certain kind of sauce and seasonings which sometimes is very hard for me to decipher what actually is that dish(lol). For a change, I decided to spoil my palate. So for today, I had a steamed buttered broccoli and steamed fish topped with ginger and onion leeks. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the fish but it's definitely not "tilapia" coz there is no "tilapia" here. :)
I had a good lunch as expected. I like to eat the foods when these are "really hot". It makes me eat more. I never worry of getting fat though as I am the type who is not very easy to get fat and besides I just eat to my hearts content once in a while (hey, why I'm justifying?) hahaha....
Well...just to give you an idea of why I considered my meal today as a healthy diet....
Broccoli is low in saturated fat and very low in cholesterol. This is packed with so many nutrients such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Potassium and Manganese.
Fish on the other hand is a high protein low fat food (especially when it's not fried), is a good source of iron, contains healthy essential fatty acids and easy to digest. Another important benefit for choosing fish is that it's easy on the budget and can save your time in the kitchen as it is easier to cook.
So guys....what do you think?

Hi Reese! Yup, it's steamed fish. Good that you liked broccoli. To be honest, I don't find it's taste appealing but I do eat it for health reasons. Should include it in our cycle of menus to get it's health benefits. :)
